The Elizabethan Dog

Last year, I was commissioned to paint a pet portrait. Something I've never done before and  normally wouldn't interest me, except the quirkiness of this commission appealed to me - a dog portrait set in a famous painting or historic costume. It's a genre I've seen before and I thought it would be fun to do something completely extravagant. I was also given a lot of freedom with it, a condition every artists loves when doing a commission.
